Robert O'Conor, Jr.
Former U.S. District Judge Robert
O'Conor, Jr., is a native of Los Angeles, California and a Texas resident
since 1946. He received his law degree from the University of Texas School
of Law and began his practice in Laredo, Texas in 1958. From the inception
of his law career, Robert O'Conor, Jr. focused his practice on trials of
cases in state and federal courts. He has received the highest rating
("AV") from Martindale-Hubbell and a listing of his court admissions is
noted below. He also served in the U.S. Army, Judge Advocate General's
Corps, as an army lawyer (Capt., U.S.A.R.J.A.G.C.).
In 1975, President Gerald Ford appointed Robert O'Conor, Jr. to the
U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. He served the
Southern District in the Laredo, Brownsville, Corpus Christi and Houston
Divisions. In 1984, he resumed the practice of law in Houston, Texas,
specializing in plaintiffs' personal injury trials. He is Board Certified
in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
With more than 42 years of trial experience, including years of courtroom
hours as a federal district judge in a broad spectrum of cases, Robert
O'Conor, Jr. has the background and experience which has qualified him to
prosecute and try any case and has garnered continuing lawyer referrals.
